- Detail: Using details to
alternately confuse or rivet your listener, so that he or she wants to

- Abstraction: Using abstractions
and vagueness to sweep your listener along, while building emotional

- Values: Using someone's abstract
mental frames to shepherd him or her toward a course of action...
because what someone already believes is exactly the reason why he or
she should buy.
- Metaphor: Using stories and
images to gently deliver powerful messages, so that your customer finds
a reason to buy right now!
- Trance Induction: Combining the
above tools so as to move someone into the physical and emotional state
that makes him or her want to stop... remember the location of that

If you don't already know how
to use these tools, well, you're at a disadvantage in today's

have trouble sensing when someone--a customer, whittling away your
